APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The applicant and a parent or guardian must complete both parts of the Application for Admission form and return it to Sacred Heart Academy with the $40 fee (check or money order payable to Sacred Heart Academy) before October 29, 2008. The enclosed Request for Release of Records form must be signed by the parent or guardian of the applicant and forwarded to the office of the applicant’s current school.  Final consideration cannot be given until all records are received.

TESTING

All students applying for grades 9 and 10 must take an Entrance Exam. 

The autumn exam date has been set: 
Saturday, November 1, 2008, at 8:00am.  Testing concludes at noon.

INTERVIEW

Personal interviews are available, but are not required as part of the admissions process. You may schedule an interview until November 5th, 2008 by telephoning the Admissions Office at (203) 288-2309, ext. 307. One or both parents or guardians must accompany the candidate since both the candidate and the parents/guardians will be interviewed.

RECOMMENDATIONS AND RECORDS

Written recommendations are not required but are extremely helpful in clarifying a student’s application and/or in explaining special circumstances. Sacred Heart Academy must receive school records as soon as possible.  Final consideration cannot be given until all records are received.

NOTIFICATION

Acceptance to Sacred Heart Academy is based on the results of the entrance exam and 6th, 7th, and 8th grade records. Written recommendations serve to clarify a student’s application and/or explain special circumstances. All applicants are notified of the admissions committee’s decision by mail.
