informational, educational, and recreational needs of the
students of Sacred Heart Academy.

information." Information Power 1988
Overview
The Mary and James DiMeo Library, dedicated in 1984,
serves three different functions: computerized research
center, separate periodical room, and general and reference
library.
Through the CT Digital Library Program (iConn),
SHA receives the Discovering Series and the Galenet Database
that provides magazines, journals and primary documents. The
Galenet Database may also be accessed from students’ homes.
The library subscribes to other databases as needed for
student research. Currently we are subscribing to
Facts-on-File
and
LitFinder.
The lower level of the library offers reference books, a
periodical room, microfiche and two computer centers with 12
computers and two printers for student use. Two computers
with electronic card catalogs locate books and materials.
This catalog is accessible from classrooms.
The upper level contains the circulatory library, a study
room with shelving for oversized books and audio-media
materials.
Hours
Monday - Thursday: 7:45 am to 4:00 pm
Friday: 7:45 am to 3:30 pm
