Setting up Outlook Express for SHA Email
For Those Whose AOL is Causing Problems
Ideally, it is best to be able to log into our mail server over the web as everyone is used to here at school. In this way, you get not only your personal mailbox, but also the Public Folders that some teachers are beginning to use for class.
But for some people who have AOL at home, there have been problems that we have not been able to solve as yet and these instructions will at least let you get your personal SHA e-mail.
NOTE: Teachers who have students using public folders could cross post to both these folders and to the students’ individual mailboxes by cc:ing to a class distribution list as well.

Ø Depending on your internet provider, for security reasons on their servers, you may not be able to send mail through SHA’s SMTP server (POP3 is for receiving, SMTP is for sending). For example, SNET/SBC does this. You will get an error message when trying to send if your SHA account is the default, but you will be able to get all your SHA e-mail messages from school. When replying to them, however, you will have to use another e-mail account to send with, in this case your SNET account.
