ATTENTION SENIORS

Sacred Heart Academy has been selected to receive a $l,000 Scholarship from the Ted DeLauro Scholarship Fund. 

 

SENIORS WHO RESIDE IN THE THIRD CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT,  AND WHO MEET THE STATED CRITERIA ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY.

 

(Third Congressional District:  Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Branford, Derby, Durham*, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Middlefield, Middletown*, Milford, Naugatuck, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Prospect, Seymour, Shelton*, Stratford, Wallingford, Waterbury*, West Haven, Woodbridge.)  (*Denotes towns which are only partially in the 3rd Congressional District)

 

Criteria:

 

·       A demonstrated desire to get involved in community service

·       Community Service (not a school activity) defined broadly to include anything from caring for an elderly neighbor to working in a soup kitchen or volunteering for a charitable fundraiser.

·       Community service activities that highly impact numerous people in the community, rather than benefiting the individual student or groups solely within the school

·       Maintained a minimum “B” average over the past three years.
