Completed Scholarship Applications are due in the Guidance Office by the SHA DEADLINE DATES SHOWN.

Students are encouraged to use the Guidance Department workroom to research for additional scholarship opportunities and to obtain information on Merit Scholarships from individual colleges and universities.

GREATER NEW HA VEN WOMEN’S DIVISION OF THE AMERICAN COMMITTEE ON ITALIAN MIGRATION – Scholarships will be awarded to New Haven area students who are of Italian descent (maternal and /or paternal lineage). Candidates must be of good character and demonstrate financial need. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. SHA DEADLINE: 5/2/08.

HARRY M. BAILEY PTSA, WEST HAVEN, CT. – High school seniors, who are Bailey Middle School graduates, are invited to apply for this scholarship.

You must write an essay: “How my experiences at Bailey Middle School prepared me for my High School Career” and forward it to: Phil Liscio, Bailey Middle School PTSA President, 106 Morgan Lane, West Haven, CT 06516. In addition, you must submit two letters of recommendation – one from an educator and one from a community member outlining achievement and volunteer service. SHA DEADLINE: 3/31/08.

NEWCOMERS & NEIGHBORS OF SEYMOUR & OXFORD JOHN T. DEBARBER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD – Students living in Seymour or Oxford may apply for this $1,000 scholarship. You must demonstrate achievement, initiative and financial need. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. SHA DEADLINE: 4/25/08.

CONNECTICUT ALUMNI CHAPTER MOUNT ST. MARY’S UNIVERSITY, EMMITSBURG, MD. – Students planning to attend Mt. St. Mary’s University are eligible to apply for this $2,000 scholarship. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

2008 ISIDORE WISE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM AT CONNECTICUT CHILDREN’S MEDICAL CENTER – High school seniors who have been former or current patient/students at Newington Children’s hospital, CCMC or the CCMC School are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. SHA DEADLINE: 4/1/08.
