SCHOLARSHIP LISTINGS SACRED HEART ACADEMY

Completed Scholarship Applications are due in the Guidance Office by the SHA DEADLINE DATES SHOWN.

Students are encouraged to use the Guidance Department workroom to research for additional scholarship opportunities and to obtain information on Merit Scholarships from individual colleges and universities.

JUNIOR LEAGUE OF GREATER NEW HAVEN – Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded this year. This award is based on ongoing community volunteer activities that are not part of a required curriculum. Applicants must reside in the Greater New Haven area: Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, Meriden, Milford, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Wallingford, West Haven or Woodbridge. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. SHA DEADLINE: 4/1/08.

KIWANIS CLUB OF WALLINGFORD, CT. – Wallingford residents are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Selection criteria: academic achievement, financial need and community involvement with emphasis on financial need and community service. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. SHA DEADLINE: 4/28/08.

DAG HAMMARSKJOLD MIDDLE SCHOOL PTO SCHOLARSHIP – This $400 scholarship will be awarded to a former student at Dag Hammarskjold Middle School (minimum of 2 academic years) who is a Wallingford resident. Scholarship Criteria: academic achievement, desire for improvement, high moral standards and concern for others. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. SHA DEADLINE: 4/28/08.

WEST HAVEN BREAST CANCER AWARENESS COMMITTEE Susan A. Ruickoldt Scholarship – This scholarship ($2,000) will be awarded to a college bound female West Haven resident. Applications are available at the West Haven City Hall or WH Public Works Dept. SHA DEADLINE: 4/21/08.

HAMDEN DEMOCRATIC TOWN COMMITTEE GLORIA C. SENDILLO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a Hamden resident and a registered Democrat with a background in community service. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. SHA DEADLINE: 3/24/08.
