information on Merit Scholarships from individual colleges and universities.

OUR LADY OF FATIMA CHURCH –
Active parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima Church who are high
school seniors are eligible to apply for a number of scholarships. High scholastic ability, financial need,
community involvement and extra curricular activities will be considered. Applications are available in the Guidance
Office. SHA DEADLINE: 4/1/08.
OUR LADY OF FATIMA MEN’S CLUB SCHOLARSHIP –
Two $1,000 scholarships will be award to one female student and one male
student. You must be a registered
parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima who has received the Sacraments of Baptism,
First Communion and Confirmation.
Applications are available in the Guidance Office. SHA DEADLINE: 4/21/08.
AUXILIARY OF THE HOSPITAL OF ST. RAPHAEL –
There are three scholarships available for students planning to pursue a career
in a health related profession. One application form will allow you to apply
for all scholarships. Applications for
these scholarships are available in the Guidance Office. Eligibility will be determined by an analysis
of your financial need, your scholastic achievement, your personal statement,
and a list of your past and or current community and school involvement. SHA DEADLINE: 3/24/08.
THE ROTARY CLUB OF ORANGE – High school
seniors from Orange
are eligible to apply. Financial need,
GPA, school and community involvement are considered. Applications are available in the Guidance
Office. SHA DEADLINE: 5/1/08.
CONNECTICUT BUILDING
CONGRESS SCHOLARSHIP FUND – Scholarships are
available for Connecticut
high school seniors planning a career in architecture, engineering,
construction management, surveying, or other course of study leading to a degree
in the construction field. Awards are
determined by academic merit, extracurricular activities, potential and
financial need. Applications are
available in the Guidance office. SHA

NAUGATUCK VALLEY MEDICAL
SCHOLARSHIP FUND, INC. – High school seniors living in Ansonia,
Derby, Seymour, Shelton, Oxford, or Beacon Falls, CT who plan to undertake
a medically oriented or medically science oriented program are eligible to
apply for these scholarships. You must
have a GPA o 3.5 or higher and SAT scores of 600 V, 600 W,
600
M., or an ACT score of 26 in English, Math, Science and Reading.

DISABLED WORKERS SCHOLARSHIP –
This scholarship of $1,250 per semester for four years will be awarded to the
child of a worker totally disabled in the work place. THE INJURY MUST ARISE OUT OF THE
WORKPLACE. Academics and financial need
are the basis for this scholarship. Applications
are available in the Guidance Office. SHA

CARTER MARIO INJURY LAWYERS –
“Arrive Alive” Scholarship Competition – Eight $500.00
scholarships will be awarded to Connecticut
graduating high school seniors. The
application is an essay in the form of a letter that you would read to your
classmates prior to prom, appealing to their good senses not to drink and
drive. An additional $200.00 will be

MUTUAL SECURITY CREDIT UNION –
Six high school seniors with outstanding promise will each receive a $1,000
scholarship. Applicants need to be
a MSCU member or the child of a member.

DUNKIN’ DONUTS SCHOLARSHIP –
There are 100 $1,000 scholarships available for “well rounded” high school
seniors who excel academically, demonstrate leadership qualities, and have been
involved in extra-curricular activities within their schools and
communities. Applications and

BANK OF AMERICA /Vera H. & William R. Todd
Foundation – Applicants must be current residents of Derby or Shelton,
CT with continuous residence of a
minimum of four years. Applications
are reviewed on the basis of financial need, scholastic ability, and
extra-curricular involvement.

FOUNDATION – A number of scholarships are available through
this foundation. The application

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF
FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES CONNECTICUT AFFILIATE –
Two $1,000 scholarships are available to graduating Connecticut high school seniors who will
major in a Family and Consumer Science related field of study. Decisions will be based on GPA, SAT scores,
and extracurricular activities in the community and school. Applications are available in the Guidance
office. SHA DEADLINE: 3/3/08.
BIG SUN ATHLETIC
ORGANIZATION – Student athletes are invited to apply for

ST.
JOHN’S UNIVERSITY – Information is available in the Guidance
office relating to two scholarships available at St. John’s University. If you have been accepted and plan to attend
SJU, please see Mrs. Donohue for additional information. The Catholic Student Scholarship is due at
SJU by 2/15/08 and the Ozanam Scholars Program is due by 3/15/08.
