Students are encouraged to use the Guidance Department workroom to research for additional scholarship opportunities and to obtain information on Merit Scholarships from individual colleges and universities.

COMMERCE BANK AMERICAN DREAM
SCHOLARSHIPS – NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.
This program will award 225 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to
graduating high school seniors nationally.
Awards are non-renewable. To
apply, you must have a GPA of 3.0 or better, and demonstrate involvement in
community service, volunteerism, school activities and employment
responsibilities. Interested students
should apply online at commerceonline.com/americandream. You may call

COMCAST LEADERS AND
ACHIEVERS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – SHA can nominate one student for this scholarship
program. Comcast will award a one-time
$1,000 scholarship to a student from within the Comcast Community who
demonstrates leadership abilities in school and/or work experiences. Also you must show a strong commitment to and
involvement in community service and academics.
If you would like to be nominated, please see Mrs. Donohue in the
Guidance Office. Nomination deadline is
11/15/07.
THE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
SCHOLAR PROGRAM AT
ACADEMIC FINANCING
CORPORATION – This is a national scholarship program. They will award two
$5,000 scholarships and sixteen $2,500 scholarships nationwide. Additional information and an application can
be obtained at www.afclending.com/50K.
THE NATIONAL CO-OP
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – The following colleges/universities participate in this
program. Drexel University; Johnson
& Wales University; Kettering University; C.W. Post Campus of Long Island
University; Northeastern University; Pace University; Rochester Institute of
Technology; University of Cincinnati; University of Toledo; Wentworth Institute
of Technology. If you are planning to
apply and attend any of the above, you are eligible to apply for this
scholarship program. However, to be considered for this program you must have
already applied to one of the above institutions. Applications are available in

PARK SCHOLAR AWARDS PROGRAM - ITHACA COLLEGE’s
ROY H. PARK SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS – If you plan to attend Ithaca’s Roy H. Park
School of Communications you are eligible to apply to be a Park Scholar. Additional information is available in the
Guidance Office.
GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS
PROGRAM
– This program was established to assist African American, American
Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American who
are U. S. Citizens, or national or legal permanent residents of the United
States. Students meeting the criteria
must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.30 or higher. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate
leadership abilities through participation in community service,
extracurricular or other activities.
Applicants must also be identified as being eligible for a Federal Pell
Grant. Please see Mrs. Donohue in the
